The solar system you buy is only as good as the company that installs it. With hundreds of installers in the market, this 10-point checklist will help you separate professionals from part-timers.
The Checklist
- Government registration — Is the company registered on the PM Surya Ghar portal? Unregistered vendors cannot get you the subsidy.
- MSME / company credentials — Verify business registration and GST.
- Component transparency — Do they name the exact panel, inverter and structure brands in the quotation?
- DCR panel compliance — Subsidy requires DCR (domestically manufactured) panels. Insist on documentation.
- Site survey before quote — A serious company surveys first, quotes after.
- Generation estimate in writing — Ask for expected monthly units, not vague promises.
- Warranty clarity — Panel performance (25 yrs), inverter (5–10 yrs), workmanship (min. 5 yrs).
- Net metering & subsidy handling — Included in scope, or your headache?
- After-sales service — Local team? AMC options? Response time commitment?
- References & reviews — Ask for nearby installations you can actually see.
Red Flags to Avoid
- Quotes far below market average (component quality is being cut somewhere)
- Pressure to pay a large advance before any survey
- No physical office or service presence in your region
Sunvera Energy welcomes every question on this checklist — transparency is how long-term trust is built.
